How to Check Mic / Microphone of Mobile Phone with Multimeter:
A Mic or Microphone of mobile cell phone / smartphone is a Card Level Part of a Mobile Phone that helps to transmit sound during phone call. It is also called Mouth Piece. Mic is controlled by Audio IC or Power IC (UEM).
Following Problems will happen if the Mic is Faulty:
- No sound or Less Sound during phone call.
- The other Person cannot hear your Voice / Sound.
- Sound with interruption or Changed sound.
To Check or Test Mic of Mobile Phone with Multimeter, do following:
- Keep the Multimeter on Buzzer Mode. Buzzer Mode is also Called Continuity Mode.
- Check the (+) Positive and (-) Negative of the Mic.
- Value must be 600~1800.
- If the Value is not between 600~1800 then change the Microphone.
- There should NOT be any Beep / Buzzer Sound. If there is Beep / Buzzer Sound then the Mic is Faulty and needs to be replaced.
- NOTE: Only one side of the Mic will give value. The other side will not give any value.
How to Check or Test Speaker / Ear Speaker of Mobile Phone with Multimeter
Earpiece or Ear Speaker in a mobile cell phone helps to listen to sound during phone call. The Speaker is controlled by Audio IC or Power IC (UEM).
Following Problems will happen if the Speaker is Faulty:
- No sound during phone call.
- Less sound during phone call.
- Sound with interruption.
To Check or Test Speaker of Mobile Phone with Multimeter, do following:
- Keep the Multimeter on Buzzer Mode.
- Check the (+) Positive and (-) Negative of the Speaker.
- Value must be 25~35.
- If the Value is NOT between 25~35 then change the Earpiece / Speaker.
- There should be a Beep / Buzzer Sound. If there is NO Beep / Buzzer Sound then the Speaker is Faulty and needs to be replaced.
- NOTE: If there is less sound or sound is not clear during phone call then change the speaker.
